7 Signs You Need to Change Your Diet As Soon As Possible

October 18, 2018 By: Mania B

What to eat and what not to eat has remained a big topic of debate since a long time. We read, hear and see a lot about it in various forms of media almost every day. But do you know that all the answers are hidden in your body itself?

If you’re not eating right, your body may be telling you in many ways. You just need to pay attention to the signs that it’s giving. Here we’re going to talk about 7 such signs that your body may be leaving to tell you that you’re not doing justice to yourself. Let’s get started:

#1. You’re always hungry

Failing to go on a diet is not a matter of willpower alone – it also has something to do with your diet. If you’re constantly hungry, how will you be able to keep your portions in check? Hunger is also a way of your body to tell you that you’re not getting the nutrients you need. Try increasing your calorie consumption a bit and see what difference it makes.

#2. You’re bloated most of the time

Regular abdominal bloating is also a sign of the wrong diet. Do you feel gassy after drinking milk or consuming some dairy products? Maybe you’re lactose intolerant. In that case, you need to change your source of calcium from dairy products to something else.

If you feel bloated after consuming some other food item, maybe you’re consuming too much fiber in the form of that item.

#3. You regularly suffer from constipation

If you’re having irregular bowel movements and frequently suffering from constipation, something is certainly wrong with your diet. There’s a good chance that you’re consuming less fiber than you need, and including some high fiber foods in your diet can help solve the problem. According to Health.com it can be a good idea to start your day with soluble fibers like oatmeal and avocados.

#4. You’re suffering from insomnia/exhaustion

Consistent tiredness or inability to sleep is not related to modern work life and stress alone. It also has a correlation with your diet. If thenot enough calories in your food to satisfy the requirements of your body and mind according to the physical/mental labor involved in your lifestyle, exhaustion can become a part of life before you realize it.

Same applies to insomnia too – eating a full meal right before you go to the bed may be keeping you awake. Our bodies require at least 3-4 hrs to digest, and sleeping before the digestion process is complete can cause numerous problems like acid reflux and heartburn, thus keeping you awake at night.

#5. You’re getting more breakouts and blemishes

Food is what makes your body glow. But it’s also what causes flare-ups, especially if not consumed in the right way. Several prominent health-related sites – like https://www.digestivecenter.com/ have suggested that processed foods like chips, cookies, crackers and ice creams have a link with breakouts.

Products including high-glycemic sugars (i.e. bread, pasta etc.) have also been linked with acne. If you consume these things frequently, maybe your body is telling you to stop it with all those blemishes and breakouts.

#6. You’re not in a good mood

Mood swings

There’re times when psychopaths may be the reasons behind your bad mood. But if your bad mood is persistent and taking a toll on your life, there’s also a chance that something is wrong with your diet.

It may seem a very strange co-relation, but it has been found in studies that food (particularly sugar) is an emotional regulator, and the right amount of blood sugar is necessary to be in a positive mood. Neither too much nor too less of it will be good for your overall health and mood.

#7. You’re getting headaches frequently

Headache

Are headaches your part of life? They don’t have to be. If you’re consuming too much frozen foods or processed foods, they may be the reason behind your headaches. Dehydration may also be another reason behind this issue. Try cutting down on your consumption of frozen and processed foods, and start drinking a little more water every day. Your headaches, if not caused by any other medical condition, will certainly become less frequent.

Conclusion

Our bodies are one of the most interesting inventions of all time. Just as they have the capacity to repair themselves, they also have their ways of telling us that we’re not being just to them. We just need to pay attention to the signs that our bodies leave for us. Now when you know about 7 of those signs, it’s time to pay attention to them and change your food habits accordingly. Do that as soon as possible!
