We’re Moving! (Again!)

by Carolyn on November 9, 2011

Shortly after I wrote the post about how we were trying to find someplace new to live, WE FOUND A PLACE! I didn’t want to say anything about it until it was a done deal, but now that papers have been signed and money has been exchanged, I think the deal is done! Winking smile It’s a little bit farther from J’s work, but the rent is cheaper than the place we are now, the house has been well-maintained (and doesn’t APPEAR to have any crazy ant problems or suspicious clauses in the lease about pest control being the tenants’ responsibility!), the yard will be easier to take care of, and the owners were willing to hold the place for us until the middle of the month (so we only had to pay for two homes for half a month, woohoo!)

Best of all, though? They let us sign a 2 year lease! So for the first time ever, we’ll be living somewhere “long term”. Winking smile Now we just need to figure out how to pack up and move a 3-bedroom house while keeping alive a baby who, if not constantly supervised, will attempt to eat any and all power cords he can scoot to, and then get everything unpacked in time for J to cook a bunch of food for Thanksgiving. Winking smile Wheee! I suppose I should be grateful that moving is the only source of holiday stress for me (no drama with my family, yay for that!) because after this year, we should be able to go back to simply enjoying the season. But in the meantime, it’s gonna be busy, that’s for sure!

Woo hoo!!!  Congratulations!  I say strap the baby to your (or husband’s, if he’s around) body if you can! But really? Don’t you have anyone nearby who wants to watch that adorable boy while you pack? I would volunteer if I was close enough!!

I don’t have a good back carrier that fits me (that’s next on my wish list!) and my hubby was in charge of all the heavy lifting, so I didn’t want him to have the baby on his back while he was moving the washing machine ;) It all worked out, though! Nathan was a total angel (though he’s been more difficult since then! I think he used up all of his “goodness” on those few days, and now I’m paying for it!)

Good luck with the move! I’m so excited for you guys that the new place sounds like it’s going to work out better … what a luxury to stay in one place for two years (lol, only to us people that move around so much)!

I can’t wait for the day when both of us have been settled at the same address (not as each OTHER, but just continuously!) for more than a few years ;)
