Shortly after I wrote the post about how we were trying to find someplace new to live, WE FOUND A PLACE! I didn’t want to say anything about it until it was a done deal, but now that papers have been signed and money has been exchanged, I think the deal is done!
It’s a little bit farther from J’s work, but the rent is cheaper than the place we are now, the house has been well-maintained (and doesn’t APPEAR to have any crazy ant problems or suspicious clauses in the lease about pest control being the tenants’ responsibility!), the yard will be easier to take care of, and the owners were willing to hold the place for us until the middle of the month (so we only had to pay for two homes for half a month, woohoo!)
Best of all, though? They let us sign a 2 year lease! So for the first time ever, we’ll be living somewhere “long term”.
Now we just need to figure out how to pack up and move a 3-bedroom house while keeping alive a baby who, if not constantly supervised, will attempt to eat any and all power cords he can scoot to, and then get everything unpacked in time for J to cook a bunch of food for Thanksgiving.
Wheee! I suppose I should be grateful that moving is the only source of holiday stress for me (no drama with my family, yay for that!) because after this year, we should be able to go back to simply enjoying the season. But in the meantime, it’s gonna be busy, that’s for sure!
